When my friend Lee from Wine and Couture asked me what theme I would like for my baby shower, I knew a tea time celebration would be perfect. I love a good tea time and it’s a fun excuse to get dolled up. Remember my New Years Eve Tea time post from Miami? Every since that day, I had been wanting to enjoy another Tea Time and had The Carolina Inn as one of my top places to try.
We had our Tea Time in the Piedmont Room of the hotel which had French doors that overlooked the patio. It gave the room a crisp and bright feel that was accompanied by the sweet melodies of classical music. We started off by enjoying a toast. Mine was sparkling Apple Cider and my friends got to enjoy a glass of Prosecco. I have to say that at almost 31 weeks (7 3/4 months) I feel great and so blessed to feel my baby girl kicking and growing inside of me. Next up was tea time. We each got to choose a tea from a selection of black, green, herbal, white, and iced teas. I went with a Hibiscus Sangria Iced tea that was sweetened just right and was way better than that Starbucks one. A cute detail was that we all got different tea pots and some how the colors of the tea pots matched what we were wearing. Shortly after we got our tea, our savory sandwiches and sweets came out. We enjoyed turkey fig preserves on biscuit, gluten free cucumber watercress and cream cheese, cured tomato mozarella basil & balsamic glaze on toast. We also had a selection of chocolate covered strawberries, cookies and cream macaroons, mini pumpkin pies, and chocolate eclairs. The grand finale was warm scones with fresh lemon curd, English Devonshire cream and jam. These were the best scones I have ever tasted. This mamma was in food heaven.
I am so thankful to have such sweet and caring friends. We all had such a great time enjoying each others company. It really meant so much to me. Especially since I will not be able to have a baby shower with all my family and friends back home in Miami due to the risk of Zika.
On another note, I absolutely loved my red lace dress from Pink Blush Maternity. I felt beautiful and I adored the scalloped v-neck line. My red Mary Jane pumps and gold accessories added the perfect touch to complete the look. I got this dress thinking it would be perfect to re-wear for Christmas or New Years Eve and even Valentines Day. Because the cut is so flattering, I will be able to wear this even when I am not pregnant. Pink Blush is such a great website to shop on because even though they do sell a lot of maternity clothing, they have a great selection on non-maternity items. I have so many more of their pieces on my wish list.
Thank you all for stopping by and reading my post. Even though I have not been posting as frequently, I still love blogging and hope to be able to continue doing it for a very long time.
